I’m Annie – a relaxed wedding photographer in the awesome city of Edinburgh, but I shoot weddings all over the UK, Europe, and further if asked! And the blog is back up and running after a little hiatus of website revamping, business development, and a little matter of a move 350 miles north to Edinburgh…
I live in a cosy flat with my husband Dan (that’s him up there, not long after we moved to Scotland) and our two British Blue cats, Sami (the stocky one) and Fred (the pillow stealer). We got married in 2016 after knowing each other for over 20 years and being together for eight. Much like the couples I have the pleasure of working with, our priorities were making sure our wedding was a personal and fun day for everyone – including having some of our favourite Adnam’s ale and a cracking band.
My favourite things in the world are travelling (33 countries and counting), books (current favourite is Goldfinch by Donna Tartt) and allllll the cheeses. When I’m not shooting weddings you’ll find me in a backstreet boozer, browsing in little independent shops for pretty knick knacks I don’t need, buying more books I won’t get around to reading, or watching David Attenborough’s back catalogue on Netflix (how amazing was Blue Planet 2?!).
My love of people and their characters and stories is what got me into wedding photography. I’ve been a photographer for five years and it’s just the most amazing job. The best thing about it is that I get to take awesome photos of couples in love and their favourite people having a great time.
My wedding photography style is natural and creative. I capture all the beautiful and silly moments, and let you get on with having a fantastic day. For me the best bit about a wedding day is the party, because everyone’s a bit tipsy and by then I’m part of the ‘guest’ furniture and on the dance floor with everyone.
Your wedding is all about love and laughter, and the last thing you want is a photographer who is super cheesy, bossy or makes you pose all day. You don’t care about chocolate fountains or coloured gems to scatter on your tables (!). You just want to say your heartfelt ‘I do’s’ and eat, drink and be merry with your favourite people.
