Woop woop, Photo of the Week #4 is here and it’s a golden hour wonder!
Back in the spring last year I had the honour of photographing my good friend Jonny’s wedding to Fran. A smaller affair than the usual and in the village where he grew up, they had a beautiful church service followed by a relaxed, fun reception at Swavesey Windmill complete with Grand National sweepstake and 80s party.
The love and laughs these two clearly have for each other made my job of taking their portraits on the day an absolute breeze – with no prompting or subtle direction needed – and goes to show how important it is to have a photographer you are relaxed around. The more relaxed you are, the more natural your pictures will be.
As we had a little wander around the grounds and out to the fields, they weren’t awkward or stiff or worrying about what to do. They just got together and did their thing, messing around, joking, winding each other up. And with that soft golden sunset light, it was a bloody beautiful and genuine thing to capture. Can’t ask for much more than that.
“These are absolutely amazing!! We can’t thank you enough!! The pictures have captured the feel of the day which was one of true happiness and love, plus a whole lot of fun!!
You have such an amazing talent and I just can’t believe some of the moments you captured!! We were so lucky to have you and you made us feel so relaxed, which comes across in all the pictures. We now have some absolutely beautiful pictures to look back on and you will such a big part of those memories. So much love and thanks to you xx”
