Here’s the second in my new photo of the week series – moments that spark joy, love, connection, soul, memories, characters – really anything with all the feels that shows off what I love to shoot.
Next up is a portrait of Lucy and Dan from their beachside wedding. As photographers we are constantly looking for good light – sunsets of it, beams of it, windows of it, spotlights of it. So if your photographer grabs you and says ‘come with me now to the beach / field / car park / garden / staircase / *insert other random location, trust them and go with it!
For Lucy and Dan’s portraits we were blessed with a gorgeous sunset after a bit of rain earlier in the day and made the most of it with 15 minutes down on the beach. For couple portraits I like to mix it up with a variety of close ups, mid-range shots and big, fine art landscapes with the couple as little people.
This shot, with the dunes, soft light, textured sky and visible connection between them shows off why it can be so important to grab even a little walk and chat with your photographer for some portraits.
